Caught between Theory and Practice
Abstract:
This talk explores the culture and motivations of the cryptographic research community. I examine the tension between theory and practice through the lens of my own experience in moving between them. I examine the peer review process through the lens of psychology and sociology. In both cases the aim is to go from critique to understanding and, eventually, change.
